Treatment Options

  • Hydrotherapy

Water is healing in many ways: buoyancy, pressure, and resistance benefit animals with mobility issues, and also provide excellent conditioning factors for healthy animals. We offer hydrotherapy with an underwater treadmill. Our experienced team will help your dog become accustomed to this modality, if needed.

  • Therapeutic Exercise

Therapeutic exercise sessions include various forms of targeted exercises with the use of appropriate equipment. Exercises improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination, and can slow progression of disease. Patients will receive customized therapeutic exercises that can be performed at home.

  • Therapeutic Ultrasound

Ultrasound uses sound waves to create heat (thermal effects) and vibration (non-thermal effects). This can help with a variety of soft tissue pathologies. This treatment relaxes muscle, decreases scar tissue, and alleviates pain.

  • Cold Laser Therapy

Cold laser therapy is a non-invasive treatment that reduces inflammation, accelerates healing and relieves pain. Infrared light penetrates tissues up to several centimeters, depending on tissue density. This is not helpful for problems deep within the chest or abdominal cavities, but it is perfect when it comes to joint health management.

When the light enters body tissues, cellular metabolism increases, thereby increasing blood circulation. This delivers blood pain mediators to the joint faster.

Your pet does not feel anything from the cold laser.

  • Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy

Platelet-Rich Plasma, or PRP, is blood plasma that contains concentrated amounts of platelets and growth factors. PRP is a non-surgical and advanced means of providing high doses of the body’s own healing factors directly to the area where they are needed.

Platelets that are found in whole blood contain many healing growth factors and bioactive proteins. These initiate tissue healing and assist with inflammation. The treatment offers an affordable natural alternative to drugs and steroids.

PRP can be introduced topically, in, or around an injured area, making it useful for a variety of conditions.

  • Stem Cell Therapy

Stem cell / regenerative cell therapy allows the isolation of regenerative cells from an animal’s fat tissue that is prepared and then injected directly into injured, inflamed, or otherwise damaged areas. This is a safe and affordable option for pets suffering from osteoarthritis, soft tissue injuries, hip dysplasia, and more.

Repair cells are found throughout our body. In the case of injury or disease repair cells are mobilized to damaged areas to attempt to fix the problem. Due to injury and/or age sometimes our own repair abilities can use a jump-start. By using the pet’s own repair cells isolated from fat tissue in the body, this repair ability can be applied to specific areas of need.

  • Electrical Stimulation

NMES (NeuroMuscular Electrical Stimulation) uses small, painless electrical impulses to create muscle contraction. This is beneficial for a variety of conditions such as disuse muscle atrophy, paresis and paralysis, and chronic orthopedic injuries.

  • Manual Therapy

Manual therapy includes passive range of motion (PROM), joint mobilization, and/or traction. Manual therapies improve movement of joints and soft tissues. It can provide significant pain relief.

  • Massage

Physiological benefits of massage include pain relief, improved joint mobility, relaxation, and increased blood circulation.
